Аннотация: Мета статі: на основі автобіографічних заміток, спогадів, листуван ня з’ясувати особливості взаємин М. І. Стороженка (1836–1906) зі своїми викладачами, показати їхній вплив на становлення особистості літера турознавця, відобразити їхню наукову й особисту комунікацію, що дасть змогу докладніше дослідити біографію цього визначного українця, який через тодішні історичні реалії зреалізувався як фахівець на чужині. Методологія дослідження: у статті застосовуємо описовий і герменевтичний методи, теоретичний аналіз і синтез, що дає змогу систематизувати й узагальнити матеріал, вичерпно схарактеризувати його. Наукова новизна. Зв’язки М. І. Стороженка з його викладачами, тодішніми науковцями, наукова й особиста комунікація з ними досі не були в полі зору науковців. Тому важливо з’ясувати їхню роль у його творчому і кар’єрному зростанні, зафіксовані в автобіографічних замітках, листуванні М. І. Стороженка, спогадах його сучасників. Висновки. Викладачі університету О. М. Бодянський, Ф. І. Буслаєв, М. С. Тихонравов — відомі дослідники української словесності — впливали на формування світогляду М. І. Стороженка, його особистісне зростання й професійне становлення, кристалізацію наукових поглядів, засвоєння традицій. На прикладі життєпису М. І. Стороженка можна розглянути не лише роль українців в імперській науці й культурі, а й значення московських учених у долі свого студента, а згодом колеги, який став, попри обставини, найвідомішим шекспірознавцем, комунікував із найавторитетнішими вченими світу, ніколи не забуваючи про своє українське коріння. Викладачі сприяли розширенню наукових контактів, зокрема й із діячами української науки й культури, сприяли його комунікації зі світовим літературознавством. Шанобливе ставлення до них відображено в численних листах М. І. Стороженка та спогадах про нього, що є важливим джерелом для його біографії.^UThe purpose of the article: on the basis of autobiographical notes, memories, correspondence, to find out the specifics of M. I. Storozhenko’s (1836-1906) relationships with his teachers, to show their influence on the formation of the personality of a literary critic, to reflect their scientific and personal communication, which will make it possible to investigate in more detail the biography of this prominent Ukrainian who, due to the historical realities of the time, realized himself as a specialist abroad. Research methodology: in the article, we use descriptive and hermeneutic methods, theoretical analysis and synthesis, which makes it possible to systematize and summarize the material, to comprehensively characterize it. Scientific novelty. Сonnections of M. I. Storozhenko with his teachers, scientists of that time, scientific and personal communication with them still have not been on scientists’ radar. Therefore, it is important to find out their role in his creative and career growth, recorded in the memories of M. I. Storozhenko and his correspondence, autobiographical notes. Conclusions. University teachers O. M. Bodyansky, F. I. Buslaev, M. S. Tikhonravov are well-known researchers of Ukrainian literature, influenced the formation of M. I. Storozhenko’s worldview, his personal growth and professional formation, the crystallization of scientific views, and the assimilation of traditions. On the example of the biography of M. I. Storozhenko, it is possible to consider not only the role of Ukrainians in imperial science and culture, but also the importance of Moscow scientists in the fate of his student, and later colleague, who became the most famous Shakespeare scholar despite the circumstances, communicated with the most authoritative scientists of the world, never forgetting about his Ukrainian roots. The teachers contributed to the expansion of scientific contacts, in particular, with figures of Ukrainian science and culture, and facilitated his communication with world literary studies.
