Copyright, Archiving and Open Access Policy
The Editorial Board supports the free exchange of knowledge and seeks to ensure maximum visibility of research by Ukrainian scholars. It endorses the (Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI)), follows the (Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association’s (OASPA) Code of Conduct), implements an immediate open access policy, promoting the free dissemination of scholarly information and global knowledge exchange for the benefit of society, in line with the standards of the (Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)).
Authors retain full copyright without restrictions while granting the Collection “Ukrainian Biographistics = Biographistica Ukrainica” the right of first publication under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution – NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. This license allows others to read, download, copy, distribute, and adapt the material, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author and the journal. All journal content is freely and openly accessible to all users and institutions without charge.
The Editorial Board applies a comprehensive strategy to ensure long-term access to publications:
- Persistent identifiers: each article is assigned a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier) via Crossref;
- Digital archiving: full-text versions of articles are stored in the repository of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine;
- Self-archiving: authors are granted broad rights to disseminate their work and may self-archive the following versions:
- Postprint (Author Accepted Manuscript): authors may share the peer-reviewed version immediately after acceptance;
- Publisher’s Version (Version of Record): authors may share the final publisher’s PDF immediately after publication on the Collection’s website.
The Editorial Board of the Collection does not impose an embargo period. All materials are freely available from the moment of publication, and authors may deposit their work in open repositories without delay.
Authors are encouraged to deposit the Publisher’s Version (PDF) of their article in institutional repositories, national digital libraries, academic social networks (ResearchGate, Academia.edu, LinkedIn etc.), as well as on personal websites and blogs.
When self-archiving, authors are requested to provide a full bibliographic reference to the article published in the Collection, include the DOI of the Publisher’s Version to ensure accurate citation tracking, and indicate that the article is distributed under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.
The Collection archives electronic versions of articles in the national repository "Scientific Periodicals of Ukraine" of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine.
