“Ukrainian Biographistics = Biographistica Ukrainica”: fixation and transformation of biographical discourse in UkraineSection: Library Biography Science: on the 100th Anniversary of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine Abstract: The article analyzes publications of the scientific collection “Ukrainian Biographical Science = Biographistica Ukrainica” (1996–2018). The main directions of biographical publications are outlined and their informational capabilities are revealed. The collection is a recognized platform for the most profound professional discussions in the field of biography in Ukraine. On its basis, new research areas for Ukrainian science have emerged and are developing (studying the experience and current problems of world and domestic biography science, improving the models and genres of reference biographical science, developing electronic resources of biographical information, expanding the source base of biographical research, using biographical information for the study of interethnic and intercultural interactions, patriotic consolidation). The authors of “Ukrainian Biographical Science” gave a significant impetus to the development of modern personal bibliography, research into library, gender, musical, Slavic biography science, the study of the educational value of biographical literature for children and young people. New forms of research into “classical” areas of humanitarianism, related to biography science — memoiristics, archaeography, the distribution of biographical knowledge in the society, forms and methods of communication with the reader’s audience and publishing and information structures, and raising the role of libraries in this work are also suggested. Keywords: biographical science, Institute of Biographical Science, scientific collection, biographical community, sources of biographical research.
