Personnel of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for 100 years of its existence: analysis based on the use of quantitative methodsSection: Man of Science: on the 100th Anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Abstract: The article presents and substantiates the results of quantitative and qualitative analysis of the personnel of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (academicians, correspondent members and foreign members) for 100 years of its existence (1577 persons; 1918–2018). The research was carried out with the help of modern computer technologies and on the basis of quantitative methodology. Attention is focused, first of all, on the age component of the Academy members, on their places of birth (countries and regions in concordance with modern political and administrative-territorial realities), on educational institutions in which they obtained higher education; the statistics on scientific fields are presented. The text contains the corresponding tables. It was stated that based on the analysis of the given array of information a number of methods of quantitative analysis and computer software were tested, which can be used for scientific and publishing work (systematization, structuring, analysis, etc.) with large arrays of any biographical information.
