Abstract: Museum assays about Yakiv Novytskyi’s library.The purpose of the research is connected with new features of Yakiv Novytskyi`s biography (October 14, 1847 – May 19, 1925) – the corresponding member of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (VUAN) and the prominent figure if science and culture of Katerynoslavshchyna – Zaporizhzhya Oblast via studyinghis readers preferences reflected in his private library. The novelty of the studylies in studying of the scientist`s private library fragment, which was found in the library fond of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine, the known exemplars from the collection of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and archivalsources, namely the Institute of Manuscript of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. The author relied on the next research methods: historical method, analysisand synthesis, systematization, classification and comparative analysis, problem chronological method, personal approach and description of books.
