Archival documents as a source of studying the author’s personality (Based on the material of documents about Yurii Hoida)

Abstract: The aim of the study. On the literary map of Carpathian Ruthenia, the figureof Yurii Hoida (1919-1955), winner of the D. Vakarov Regional Prize, occupiesa special place. Little-known pages of his life and work are revealed on the basisof documents of the Central State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine, which are related to the figure of Yu. Hoida and deposited in variousfunds. The article analyzes in detail the documents of a separate nominal fund of the writer under № 281, which contains documents of personal and creative content, dated 1930-1965, as well as documents of the Writers’ Union of Ukraine. Research methods. The following methods were used: biographical, retrospective, comparative, historical and scientific heuristics. The scientific novelty of the article is that for the first time a set of archival documents related to the life and work of Yu. Hoida and the activity of Carpathian Ruthenia branch of the Writers’ Union of Ukraine 1940-1965 years.
