Bioistoriographic “pentacle” of Tetyana Mykolayivna Popova

Section: Theory and methodology of modern biography

Abstract: The corpus of of monographs of the well-known researcher, historian-metho -dologist, professor of Odessa I. I. Mechnikov National University Tetyana Popovais presented as thematic, problematic, stylistic integrity. Five books were presented: “Historiography in Persons, Problems, Disciplines: From the History of Novorossiysk University” (Odessa, 2007), “Biography of a Scientist-Historian atthe Crossroads of Historiographical Traditions” (Odessa, 2017), “Disciplinary image of science: approaches and concepts“ (Odessa, 2019), ”Auto-bio-historiographical notes“ (Odessa, 2020), ”Peter Mikhailovich Bitcilli: a portrait in themanner of “sfumato” (Odessa, 2021) were presented in 2007-2021. The mainareas of research of the author are the disciplinary history of historiography, biohistoriography and regional historiography, bitcilian studies). It is emphasized that T. Popova formulated her own image of problem-disciplinary oriented sciences, the structure of which includes two interrelated institutional levels: the problem organization of science (the so-called “leading edge of science – problem-oriented research”) and disciplinary organization of science, components ofwhich – scientific and educational disciplines. It is proved that the presented body of works has significantly enriched the intellectual landscape of historical scienceand interdisciplinary humanities.
