Memoir narrative of the magazine “Ukraine”: Authors / heroes and forms of representations

Section: On the experience of domestic biographi

Abstract: The aim of the work is to consider the memoir narrative of the journal “Ukraine” in the AUAS (All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences) dimension, its characteristic features in the source study and communicative context, various forms of representation, the circle of heroes / authors, its role in the formation of nationalhistory and ideology/identity. The research methodology is based on the use of general scientific methods of systematization and classification, the principles of historicism, objectivity and discourse analysis (the method of researching content). The scientific novelty of the article lies in the consideration of the memoirnarrative of the journal “Ukraine” as a solid and authoritative historical and biographical source of Ukrainian historiography and an instrument of communication in the scientific and social environment for the establishment of national ideology / identity in the difficult conditions of the onset of Soviet power. Conclusions. The memoir narrative of the magazine “Ukraine” is considered as animportant source study segment of Ukrainian historiography, a fundamental historical and biographical source, a communicative resource of the academic community and society, a mechanism for broadcasting / influencing Ukrainian scienceon society to form nationally oriented meanings and create a circle of its heroes.It is noted that the memoirs published on the pages of “Ukraine” became an integral part of the national historical discourse, which allowed to actualize in society the role of individual figures / heroes on the example of memoirs of M. Drahomanov and M. Kostomarov in the struggle for national rights of Ukrainians.history and historical science in order to consolidate Ukrainian society and forma national / socio-cultural identity.
