Women’s experiences, practices, strategies in 1914-1921 (According to the personnel documentation of the 1920s of the funds of the CP(b)U of the State archive of the Zaporizhzhia region)Section: Prosopographical studies Abstract: The purpose of the article is to reveal the informational potential of the personnel documentation of the CP(b)U funds of the 1920s, which are stored in the State Archives of the Zaporizhzhia region, regarding the availability and composition of biographical data of women in the period 1914-1921, and to highlight, based on the analysis of these documents, the influence of the military revolutionary time for changes in their life tasks and everyday practices. The author used a gender approach in the research, which emphasizes the diversity of women’s experiences, methods of analysis, synthesis, statistics, source-based heuristics, and criticism. The scientific novelty of the work consists in updating the personnel documentation of the local archives of the Communist Party of Zaporizhzhia in the 1920s as sources of biographical data and life practices of women in the region. Conclusions. The funds of the former leading party organizations of the 1920s in Zaporizhzhia contain a significant set of personnel documentation containing biographical data on the lives of women in the region in 1914-1921, who at that time or later became candidates or members of the CP(b)U. The most informative types of documents related to the First World War and the Ukrainian Revolution are autobiographies and personal letters. Data from the personnel documentation of party committees of Zaporizhzhia in the 1920s allow us to see the numerous challenges that women received in the conditions of the First World War and the Ukrainian Revolution. Also, the personnel documents of the CP(b)U funds in the 1920s allow us to trace the changes in the strategies of women who actively participated in the activities of the Bolshevik Party in 1917-1921. Keywords: personnel documentation, personal affairs, women, First World War, Ukrainian Revolution, Zaporizhzhia, CP(b)U.
