Biography book in the discourse of Ukrainian literature for children during the Russian-Ukrainian War (2014-2024)

Abstract: The aim of the work. The purpose of the publication is to outline the mainfeatures and socio-cultural context of the life of Ukrainian literature for children during the Russian-Ukrainian war (from 2014 to the present), identifying and analyzing the place of biography books in it. Scientific novelty. The publication has an expanded and in-depth format, revealing the interrelationships between domestic research practices and world trends, emphasizing the challenges of the modern era and analyzing popular models of biography for children and youth. Methodology. The biographical approach, the analytical methods of cultural studies and literary studies, historiographical and source criticism made it possible to draw up a general picture of the biography addressed to the child user, taking into account the historical and cultural tradition, scientific potential and the demands of society. Conclusions. The author outlined the main features and the socio-cultural context of the life of Ukrainian literature for children during the Russian-Ukrainian war (from 2014 to the present), determining the place of the biography book, which is rapidly developing at this time. In particular, she emphasized changes in the pantheon of personalities offered to young people and the the saurus of life writing for children, as well as the tendency to avoid traumatic narratives, inclusiveness and therapeutic models of biographical reconstructions, which often act as “soft social technologies”.
