Abstract: The given essay is a biographic description of the life and scientific activity of the first director of the Museum of drama, music and cinema art of Ukraine, Petro Ivanovych Rulin (1892–1940). The research is based on the study of the funds of the Museum of drama, music and cinema art of Ukraine and of the Central Archive Museum of literature and art.
