Gertrude-Olysava: personality in ancient Russ politics and culture.Section: Biographic and genealogic surveys Abstract: The article examines the life of Gertrude-Olysava (1025–1107/8), princess of the Pyastys, the wife of Kyiv prince Izyaslav Yaroslavovych, her role in the relations of Poland with Russ, Germany and Italy in XI century and her cultural contribution, which is a unique book of XI century – «Gertrude’s Code».
