Shevchenko in history and culture of Ukraine Abstract: The article analyses documentary facts and scientific publications which refer to the mission of Taras Shevchenko, an employee of the Temporary Commission, of investigation of ancient acts (Kyiv archeographic commission), a painter, an author, of "Kobzar", to Podillia; his contacts, the influence of history and UNT on the creative work of the writer.
