T. Shevchenko’s Letters to S. Gulak-Artemovskyi: history of the relationship of great artists.

Abstract: In this article, through the prism of epistolary heritage of T. Shevchenko, the history of relations between the two epochal figures of Ukrainian national culture of the nineteenth century is highlighted. Analysis of the poet's letters to the composer is described not so much in traditional biographical context, but from the point of disclosing spiritual unity of great artists and their human relationships. The proposed research perspective is motivated by the interest in knowing the inner world of two countrymen, the genius of poetry and music, whose friendship gave an inspiration for their life and work.
